Fennel

Flea repellent. Keep on end of vegetable garden.

Fenugreek

Use in Indian curry and cooking. Use with mangoes in chutney, meat dishes, mince, roasts and vegetarian dishes.

Garden

Add to soups and stews. Delicious in salads, garnishing, on sandwiches

Garlic

Grow round fruit trees, benefits beetroot, lettuce, tomatoes

Iceland Poppy

Used as a garnish. Use sparingly.

Lavender

Superb insecticide, repels mice, ticks, fleas & rabbits. Grown close to vegetables, gives added flavour. Add flowers to fruit salad and marinade for venison. Add leaves to braised meat dishes.

Leek

Interplant with cabbage, lettuce, marjoram & spinach.

Spring onions, leeks etc. Protects vegetables. Good with cabbage family, beetroot and strawberries.

Pansy

Ideal for garnishing and in ice cubes.

Parsley

Useful to roses, aids growth in tomatoes, asparagus, chives and brinjals. Use in sauces, mashed potatoes, omelet’s, fish, poultry, sauces and pasta dishes.

Rosemary

Plant close to apple and cabbage.
